CSV import

E*TRADE Trading Journal with CSV Import

Import your E*TRADE trade history into EdgeDojo from a CSV export. Track P&L, fees, and win rate, and find the setups that make you money.

Free during open beta. No card required.

E*TRADE's transaction download is a list of activity. EdgeDojo turns it into a trading journal: upload the CSV and each round trip becomes a trade with entry, exit, and P&L, with multiple buys and sells of the same position merged into one trade.

Dividends, transfers, and other non-trade rows are left out, so your stats only reflect your trading.

Tips for journaling E*TRADE trades

  • Choose CSV when you download, not Excel. The CSV keeps E*TRADE's layout intact.
  • Upload after every session. Set the date range to today, download, and upload; trades you already imported are skipped, and positions you carry overnight are completed by the next day's file.
  • Add notes while the trade is fresh. A CSV brings in the numbers; only you know why you took the trade.

How to import your E*TRADE trades

  1. 1 Log in at etrade.com and open Accounts → Transactions.
  2. 2 Pick the account and the date range you want.
  3. 3 Click Download and choose CSV (not Excel). The file is named like DownloadTxnHistory.csv.
  4. 4 In EdgeDojo, open Journal → Import Trades → CSV (Smart Import) and upload the file.
  • Upload the file as it downloads. Excel can rewrite dates and drop the header rows.
