Tastytrade traders live and breathe options, and options are where a journal earns its keep: which strategies, which underlyings, and which days to expiration actually make money. EdgeDojo connects to Tastytrade with read-only access and imports stocks, options, futures, and crypto in one sync.
Your first sync brings in the last 12 months, so you start with a full year of history to analyze.
Tips for journaling Tastytrade trades
- Our parser attributes every trade to a strategy (short strangle, put credit spread, and so on) and compare their P&L side by side. Premium sellers often find one structure carries the others.
- Note days to expiration and implied volatility rank at entry in your trade notes, then look for the conditions where your edge holds.
- Review your largest losers by strategy, not by date. Tail losses usually cluster in one setup.
How to sync your Tastytrade trades
- 1 Make sure two-factor authentication is enabled on your Tastytrade login (required for API access).
- 2 Log in at my.tastytrade.com and go to Manage → My Profile → API → OAuth Applications, then click + New OAuth client.
- 3 Enter a full redirect URI (e.g. https://app.edgedojo.com). EdgeDojo only uses the read scope, so you can leave trade unticked.
- 4 Copy the client secret before clicking Finish Setup. It's only shown once.
- 5 Back in OAuth Applications, click Manage next to the client, then Create Grant, and copy the refresh token.
- 6 In EdgeDojo, open Journal → Import Trades → Connected accounts, choose Tastytrade, paste the credentials and click Connect & sync.
- The first sync imports the last 12 months; later syncs pick up where the last one left off.
- If you delete the grant or regenerate the client secret, create a new grant and reconnect.
