Kraken splits spot and derivatives across Kraken Pro and Kraken Futures. EdgeDojo connects to both with read-only API keys, so spot trades and futures positions end up in the same journal with P&L and fees.
Sync after your session instead of exporting ledgers and reconciling them by hand.
Tips for journaling Kraken trades
- Connect Kraken and Kraken Futures separately. They use different API keys, and your journal should see both.
- Do not set a key expiration on Kraken read-only keys. An expired key silently stops your journal from updating.
- Compare maker and taker trades. Fee tiers can matter as much as entries.
How to sync your Kraken trades
- 1 Log in to Kraken and open Settings → Connections & API (on Kraken Pro: Settings → API).
- 2 Click Create API key and give it a unique description.
- 3 Give the key read-only / view permission only. Do not enable trading, transfers, or withdrawals. EdgeDojo only reads your trade history.
- 4 Tick Query Funds, Query Open Orders & Trades and Query Closed Orders & Trades. Leave everything else unticked, and don't set a Key Expiration.
- 5 Click Generate key, then copy the API key into API key and the Private key into API secret.
- 6 In EdgeDojo, open Journal → Import Trades → Connected accounts, choose Kraken, paste the credentials and click Connect & sync.
- Funding payments are not imported from Kraken yet, so perp P&L excludes funding.
